The Sun

February 23rd, 2010 -- Posted in health | No Comments »

Some say the sun is your friend, but for others a lot of sun can be harmful to your skin. Especially nowadays that global warming is upon us, the heat of the sun can cause skin inflammation and skin damage and sunburn.

This is why you always have to keep your skin protected from the sun’s harmful rays.  Make sure to wear sunscreen or sunblock whenever you go out. Putting up blinds in the windows can also help prevent the sun’s heat to penetrate your home.

Online Universities

Being handicapped or having an illness that requires you to stay at home is not a reason to not have a proper education.  Nor is it acceptable to forget your dream of having a license or degree just because you are already working and you don’t have the time like the others students do. These days, there are programs and online universities that help others like you.  These universities are not only accredited but they are also affordable and they help you get your online degree through flexible online studies.

This just goes to show that in this day and age, nothing is impossible if you’re willing to pursue your dreams.

Guide to being Healthy

February 9th, 2010 -- Posted in health | No Comments »

Unlike gps who can give you specific instructions on how to go to your destination, being healthy isn’t as specific as it should be. Some may say you need to exercise everyday, drink eight glasses of water a day, or eat lots of vegetables and fruits.  This may be helpful to keep you healthy, but you don’t have to follow it perfectly. Truth is, a few minutes of cardio exercise each day is okay, you don’t have to count the glass of water that you drink (just drink water each time you eat or whenever you become thirsty), and you don’t have to overdo with eating vegetables and fruits (eating meat and fats once in a while can be healthy too).

Smoking

February 6th, 2010 -- Posted in Smoking | No Comments »

Some say smoking is bad for your health.  I agree with that but I think we should change the saying to too much smoking is bad for your health. I believe that a little smoking won’t do much harm. It also has several advantages for it can relieve stress and even help reduce constipation. What one must do to prevent lung diseases is to do this only in moderation. So if you are a smoker and is tempted to buy cigars, go on, buy one or two. Just don’t overdo it cause too much of anything may be bad for you.

Sick Time means TV time

February 3rd, 2010 -- Posted in Flu, Personal Experiences | No Comments »

I have been sick for more than a week now. I had the flu and although I’m feeling much better, I was asked by my doctor to stay at home for a while. I’m a little weak from the illness and my boss was kind enough to excuse me from work. I had nothing to do with my spare time but to watch dvd’s and cable channels. Good thing that my sister had just bought a Samsung HDTV for our mini home theater.  You wouldn’t be able to notice the difference from the regular TV if you only use regular cables and stuff. However, since my sister was a geek, she also bought HDMI cables and blu ray disks, which made the viewing experience much much better.
