What causes Insomnia?

September 20th, 2010 -- Posted in Disorders | Comments Off

You often hear people say that they are looking for the best sleep aid because they have insomnia. We know that insomnia is the term for a disorder where we have a hard time sleeping or we have poor sleep. But what exactly causes this disorder?

Causes of insomnia may be psychological or physical. One person may either be anxious, stressed or even depressed about something. These problems may have a psychological effect on the person and may hinder him/her from getting sleep. Meanwhile, physical causes may include hormonal changes such as in pregnancy or menstruation. It may also be caused by other medical conditions like high blood pressure or asthma.

Hopefully, if we have determined the cause of our sleep disorder, we may be able to find a solution to it and finally get a good night sleep.

Third Anniversary

September 17th, 2010 -- Posted in Home | Comments Off

As a couple, celebrating your first anniversary as husband and wife is pretty special.  Like most events, the usual “firsts” are the most celebrated. However, why not make the second, third and the coming anniversaries special as well? This will not only make your love stronger but it will also strenghten your relationship as a couple.

In looking for gifts to give your loved one for each anniversary, be creative and resourceful. For example, in thinking of 3rd anniversary gifts, you can use the number three as the common theme of the day.  Give her three red roses (or three dozens if your budget permits it), three boxes of chocolates, or three special items that she really likes. This will surely make the day really special and memorable.

Child’s Toys

September 14th, 2010 -- Posted in Home | Comments Off

Having a child at home, especially for first time parents can be pretty exhilarating. You are often excited that you buy lots of clothes and toys for your child. In buying toys, you have to make sure that the toy does not have small detachable  parts that may pose as a choking hazard for the child. Toys that have bright colors are also advisable since they help the child recognize these colors at an earlier age. You can also buy toys that help the child improve her learning like those with shapes, letters and those that may help improve hand eye coordination.

Toys can play a very important role in a child’s development so it is better to choose wisely the toys that you buy for your child.

Celebrate Your Anniversary with Style

Wedding anniversaries are usually the most celebrated occasion of a couple.  For some, they celebrate their anniversary simply by going on a date like a dinner or a movie. Some may not make a big deal out of it and only greet their spouse and have dinner at home. Some, however, opt to make it more special by going on a vacation or cruise.

What better way to make a celebration special than by taking a cruise to the Royal Caribbean.  The cruise features the usual casinos, entertainment and broadway shows but they also have new attractions like ice skating rinks and rock wall climbing. Of course, what is a cruise without wonderful beaches?  I’m sure this will be an anniversary that you and your spouse will never forget.

Save the Date Cards

September 10th, 2010 -- Posted in Occassions | Comments Off

Planning a wedding is very stressful especially if you are under a tight budget. One way to lessen the wedding costs is by not sending out invitations to everyone. You may opt to send save the date cards which are much cheaper than the formal invitations.

Sending out save the date cards can be fun especially if you are creative and innovative. Some couples send out e-cards through email. Some may send out cards with the pictures of the couple with the corresponding theme of their wedding. Some couples even send out pins, pencils or chocolates with their names, the wedding date and the reception.

Planning for a wedding will be easy as long as you learn to have fun and to make compromises as well. A little creativity could also help.
