It is a portable device used to restore the heart’s rhythm if it undergoes arrhythmia or the abnormal rate contractions of the heart. Arrhythmia is stopped by applying electrical therapy to the heart. If the abnormal contractions are not stopped, this may lead to the death of the patient through cardiac arrest. This process is usually included in CPR classes.
