What is Mesotehlioma?
August 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Treatments | No Comments »Mesothelioma is type of cancer that is caused by over exposure to abetoes. In this type of cancer, malignant cells are found on the protective lining of the internal organs called mesothelium.
Mesothelioma is characterized often times chest pains, pleural effusion or liquid build up in the lungs, shortness of breath, anemia or cough. In severe cases, where malignant tumors build up on the lining, abdominal pains, problems in bowel function and weight loss is experienced. For some cases, jaundice and low blood sugar level may also be experienced.
If diagnosed, treatments for Mesothelioma are suggested by the doctor. Some of these treatments include chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy and surgery.
