Do anti-oxidant capsules really work?
Today, what people are raving for is not the best diet pill but the best anti-oxidant. Anti-oxidants are minerals and vitamins that sweep away free radicals from the body. Studies have proven that diets rich in rich fiber maximizes your anti-oxidant levels in your body and enhances your body’s strength from certain diseases like cancer, heart ailments, diabetes and goiter. With this fact, a lot of drug makers have made anti-oxidants capsules derived from different fruits and vegetables as well.
But do these capsules really give the anti-oxidants that your body needs? Specialist say that it is true that juices and vitamins extracted from fruits and made into capsules have proved through experimentations that they could at a level, remove free radicals and help prevent disease. But once taken inside the body, they are useless because they are digested too fast and excreted from the body through urine a few hours after intake. As compared to fruits which are rich in fiber, it takes greater time to digest thus giving the body greater chances to absorb the anti-oxidants.
